A voice you know.
A story to discover.

James Lorcan is an actor whose career has taken an extraordinary route from the West End to the Metropolitan Police and back again.

Beginning as a professional child actor, James appeared in the world premiere of Bugsy Malone at Her Majesty’s Theatre, directed by Mickey Dolenz, alongside commercial and voice-over work. He later joined the Metropolitan Police, serving for more than 30 years, predominantly as a Detective Sergeant and spending a decade investigating homicides.

Returning to acting after training at Rose Bruford, James was nominated for Best Actor by Richmond-Upon-Thames Arts Council for his performance in Dermot Bolger’s From These Green Heights. His subsequent stage work has included Julius Caesar at the Saatchi Gallery, Forget Me Not at the Tristan Bates Theatre and Noël Coward’s We Were Dancing.

James toured extensively throughout the UK and Ireland with Sonia Friedman Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group in the Olivier Award-winning musical Sunny Afternoon, directed by Edward Hall, telling the story of The Kinks.
