of the table.
Michael Harris is the Founder, Managing Director and Head Agent of renowned talent agency Apollo Artist Management. Michael trained at Arts Educational School, Tring Park, before going on to train for three years at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he achieved his BA (Hons) Degree. His early career gave him experience across several sides of the industry, which continues to shape the perspective he brings to his work as an agent today.
Michael began professionally as a performer, with a career that included productions such as Mamma Mia!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Closer Than Ever, to name a few, before moving behind the scenes into casting at one of the industry’s most highly regarded casting offices, Amy Hubbard Casting. After his time in casting, he moved into talent management, spending several years at both Identity Agency Group (IAG) and Boland & Reeve, developing the experience that would eventually lead him to establish Apollo Artist Management in 2017.
In just over nine years, Michael has grown Apollo from a brand new independent boutique agency into one of the UK’s leading talent agencies. Apollo is now an established member of the Personal Managers’ Association and has a team of agents representing performers across television, film, theatre, musical theatre, radio, commercials and more. The agency has also expanded its representation into the creative sector, working with directors, vocal coaches, composers and other creatives.
Since launching Apollo, the agency’s musical theatre clients have appeared in some of the West End’s most high-profile productions, including Hamilton, Paddington, Matilda, The Greatest Showman and many, many more. Particular highlights include Michael representing 4 clients in the original West End cast of Paddington, while in 2024 alone, 10 of his clients performed in the award-winning musical Hamilton. More widely, the agency’s clients have also featured in major television and film projects including Bridgerton, The Crown, The Gentleman and Clayface, to name just a few, and have worked with some of the country’s leading organisations, including the National Theatre, The Young Vic, The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and The Globe.
Michael’s approach to representation is shaped by having experienced the industry from several perspectives: first as a performer, then in casting and later as a talent agent. He has passionately built Apollo around a modern, personal and hands-on approach to management, combining strong industry relationships and commercial understanding alongside a genuine investment in the individual careers of the artists he represents and a belief in working collaboratively as a team with each client.
Nearly a decade on, that philosophy continues to sit at the heart of Michael’s work and has played an integral role in Apollo Artist Management becoming one of the fastest-growing agencies in the business.
